We started the month with a special kick off event that took place at our showroom on August 1st. We hosted a blood drive, had live flooring presentations, grilled out, and enjoyed spending the day with previous customers, builders, designers, friends, family, and even new friends who visited our showroom for the first time to show their support. It was an incredible day!
HI and welcome to our blog! Today’s entry is a little different than normal. You may not know, but in 2020 our showroom manager [Andrea]’s daughter, Morgan, was diagnosed with Leukemia. We got to witness their experience at St. Jude first hand, and we’re forever grateful for the life-saving care Morgan received!
We want to give back to the organization that gave Morgan her life back. During the entire month of August a portion of all Shaw flooring sales (including Coretec Floors, Anderson Tuftex, and Philadelphia Commercial) will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
We’re having a special kick off event here at our showroom on August 1st with a blood drive hosted by the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks, live presentations, food, giveaways & more.
Andrea has recounted their entire journey with St. Jude from diagnosis to being released. We hope by learning a little more about their story you will have a greater understanding for the incredible life saving care St. Jude provides.
Carpet tiles are individual square or rectangle shaped pieces of commercial carpet with an attached backing. While traditionally they’re known for being used in commercial settings, we see them used often in residential applications as well.
Our in-stock inventory of carpet tile are unique because they’re always changing. We often purchase large project, 1st quality over runs, allowing us to pass the savings onto our customers.
If you’re like me, you probably have never really thought about carpet. I mean really thought about it. You take it for granted, it’s there, you walk on it. On occasion you’ll notice an over-the-top shag while out and about, or a really nice-looking pattern, but you’ve likely never really thought about it more than that.
My third day of work at Mouery’s, Rick, the store owner, brought me to the showroom to learn about carpet. We spent about an hour looking at the many in-stock carpet samples on the showroom floor. I got to feel the carpet, hold it up and examine the fibers, see how it was woven together, examine the back of it, feel the various textures, how one felt juxtaposed another, hold a higher priced carpet against a lower priced carpet and noting the difference.
This past weekend we had the opportunity to participate in the Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield 2022 Home Show and it was GREAT!

Anderson Tuftex is a well known brand recognized for their on-trend style and premium quality in both carpet as well as hard surface. Today we’re going to focus on one of their new engineered hardwood lines that recently launched. Ten colors, in a range of neutral tones, TEN inches wide, and as thick as a solid hardwood.

Kinetex is a textile composite that provides the benefits of soft surface with the performance of hard surface.
The primary components of the flooring is the Face fiber/wear layer and the cushioned backing. The face fiber is an abrasion and ravel resistant knitted fiber that is thermally fused to the second primary component which is the polyester felt cushioned backing.
